Welcome to The Jugnu Project – Pakistan’s Digital Domestic Violence Resource Centre for survivors impacted by domestic violence and abuse.

More than 90% of the women in the Desi community have faced domestic violence at some point in their lives. There is a lot that needs to be done on a socio-economic level to help survivors of family violence and abuse. The Jugnu Project is a small step in that direction. We are a digital resource and facilitation center working to help survivors and advocates heal from and prevent / contain domestic violence.

Alongside providing a collection of resources to aid both survivors and their loved ones, we also do our best to connect you (and those whom you love) with the services that they may require to best rebuild themselves and their lives with dignity and respect. Understanding how important financial wellness is – and how pervasive economic abuse is within desi society – we also provide consultancy services aiming to help women-in-general and (also) women-led businesses to increase their business’s traction, scope and build their financial wellbeing.

We understand that navigating through these challenging situations can be overwhelming, and we are here to provide support, information, and a safe space for those in need.

Start Difficult Conversations

We believe that it is important to have difficult conversations in order for desired change to become a reality.

About 90% of women in Pakistan face one or more forms of domestic violence at least once in their lifetimes. Yet, this is still a topic that most families would like to avoid like the plague! In a society were the fear of gossip and disrepute dictates most peoples’ life choices, a rampant culture of domestic violence and abuse is sustained by widespread silence; ensuring the continuity of inhumane cultural practices, such as gender-based violence and femicide, without must opposition.

Our mission is to provide unwavering support, essential resources, and a beacon of hope for individuals affected

by domestic violence.

Committed to breaking the cycle of abuse, our purpose is to empower survivors, raise awareness, and help to foster a community of strength and resilience. We want to create allies from within our society(s) itself. In a country where survivors of domestic violence are marginalized and ostracized, we want to help build a solid support system that ensures that survivors become financially independent and self-sufficient.

The Jugnu Project strengthens and transforms efforts to end Domestic Violence across Pakistan.

We are a comprehensive source of information for anyone wanting to educate themselves (and help others) on issues regarding domestic / family violence and intimate partner violence. We work to improve community response(s) to domestic violence and, overtime (hopefully) prevent its occurrence entirely.
